Kevin’s Note: So it’s been awhile. I started my new job in my new city, living in my new house. So much to blog about, except no time to do it! But it’s coming. One needs to find their way back to the place where they can let their thoughts run like a free-range horse. In the meantime, one of the best Kids pastors I know is going to share her heart in today’s guest post. Tricia Clement, you go girl!…
Have you ever let a kid help you with something? Something you didn’t really need their help with? Maybe you had to work slower so they could help. Maybe you had to break the job into smaller parts so they could have one of those parts. Maybe you had to pay extra attention to their safety while they helped. God doesn’t need our help. He’s not pacing in front of His throne worrying that the work of His Kingdom won’t happen if we don’t get on it. But He lets us help. He lets us tag along. He lets us speak. He lets us love. And give. And share. He doesn’t need us but He includes us anyway. He doesn’t do it the way we’re sometimes guilty of.. “maybe they’ll get bored soon and I can finish this work properly.” No. He WANTS us to be involved. Even though we are capable of nothing without His help. He loves us. He wants us to see His work in the lives He is changing. He wants us to feel the love He has for His people. And the love He has for the lost. He wants us to know Him. Thank you Lord that You let us be involved. Even though we are just children. Even though we are uncoordinated and slow. Thank you. Be thankful today for every way that you get to be involved in what God is doing. You’re experiencing God’s love for you AND through you! Let’s be just as excited about it as the 5-year-old you let work the stapler for you.
